Caitie Jane (She/Her) is a client-lead experiential counsellor who offers a holistic approach to trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, couple issues, parenting struggles, and postpartum depression. She holds a diploma in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and a Bachelors degree in fine art and history. She has worked with a diverse population including those that identify as LGBT2QIA, couples, people of the global majority and adolescents. She draws on many perspectives to meet the individual needs of her clients. This might include elements of Transpersonal Psychology, Person Centred, Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Theory, Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Parts work, and Mindfulness.
Born and raised just east of the rockies, Caitie Jane is a settler on the traditional territories of the Treaty 7 people of Southern Alberta, in the city of Calgary which is also the home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3. Her life experiences have brought her motherhood, a love of the natural world, yoga, hiking, raising honey bees and live music. It was the adverse experiences of a head injury and later post partum depression that fronted her curiosity with mental health, and as with many therapists it was her own healing journey that guided the path towards wanting to help others on theirs.
“I will hold a compassionate and gentle space as we explore the limiting beliefs and experiences that might be holding you back from coming back home to you. It takes courage to look within and stay curious and I am cheering you on for taking the first steps. We will work at your pace and respect your process while working towards greater self awareness, self acceptance, relational growth and the goals that you bring into our work together. It’s these internal shifts that start to bring in the connection and love that I believe we were wired for. In true connection and curiosity, I look forward to getting to know you.”
