I’m a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor offering a warm, grounded and collaborative space where you can feel heard, understood and respected. I believe counselling is a process of becoming curious about ourselves, understanding what has shaped us, and discovering that change is possible.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, people pleasing, codependency, relationship difficulties and the effects of trauma. I have a particular interest in supporting people who have experienced narcissistic abuse, childhood emotional neglect or abuse, and generational trauma.
These experiences can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, manage emotions and respond to stress, sometimes creating patterns that continue long after the original circumstances have changed.
My approach is trauma-informed and client-centred. Together, we can explore your thoughts, emotions, body responses, relationships and the patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck. My goal is to help you develop greater understanding and self-trust while creating more choice in how you respond to yourself and the world around you.
My approach is drawn from Somatic Experiencing, Hypnotherapy, Parts work/Internal Family Systems, EMDR-informed bilateral stimulation, Mindfulness, and CBT.
I particularly value how these approaches can work together.
Parts work can help you understand the different parts of yourself and the roles they have developed to protect you.
Hypnotherapy can support new perspectives and ways of thinking, while bilateral stimulation can help process experiences that continue to influence how you think, feel and respond. Together, these approaches can create greater insight while supporting meaningful changes in thinking, feeling and behaviour.
I have also begun a three-year Somatic Experiencing Practitioner training journey, deepening my understanding of the role the body and nervous system play in trauma and healing. Trauma is not experienced only through our thoughts and memories; it can also be reflected in our body’s responses and nervous system. Learning to recognize and work with these responses can be an important part of healing and developing a greater sense of safety and regulation.
I don’t believe there is one approach that fits everyone. Our work is guided by your needs, goals and pace. You don’t need to know exactly where to begin. We can start with what is happening for you now and, together, explore your story, reconnect with yourself and consider what meaningful change might look like for you.
