About Me

I would like to respectfully acknowledge the Treaty 6 Territory I live on. I want to acknowledge the Indigenous peoples of Alberta who share a deep history with this land. I started my healing journey 16 years ago and after moving to the Edmonton area in 2018, while working with men in recovery from addiction, I continued my personal growth and development through transpersonal therapeutic workshops which brought me on a deep healing journey which eventually led me to Clearmind International where I completed my practitioner training diploma in Transpersonal Therapeutic Counseling and hold my RTC designation. While attending therapeutic workshops, I participated in intensive experiential emotional processing, group therapy, psychodrama, and inner shadow work through Insight Counselling & Training. I am deeply committed to helping individuals and groups heal, grow, and flourish and consider myself trustworthy and exuding a natural compassion for those in emotional pain. Hello! My name is Deanna, and you may call me Dee. I am fueled by a passion to ignite transformation in people's lives, driven by an authentic and non-judgmental curiosity. From this deep wellspring, I hold a sacred space for my clients to embark on a journey of self-discovery and reclaim their true essence. Nature is my sanctuary, where I find grounding and inspiration. When I can, I immerse myself in the healing powers of the outdoors, practicing yoga and meditation, and surrendering to the joy of singing and dancing. The world if full of wonder, and I imaging expanding my horizons, seeing every corner of our beautiful mother earth. Until then, you may spot me navigating the golf course in the vibrant sun or cozying up with a captivating book, savoring the warmth of a crackling fire. As a Registered Therapeutic Counselor, Certified Addiction Counselor, and Child and Youth Counselor, I have devoted 11 transformative years to supporting individuals in their recovery from addiction and helping young souls affected by challenging childhood experiences. My therapeutic approach embodies holism, guiding you on a profound journey of self-exploration and acknowledging your unique needs. I firmly believe that by challenging ourselves, we unlock the remarkable potential for healing and personal growth that resides within. Whether you find yourself grappling with life transitions, trauma, addiction, depression, or grief, or simply yearning to cultivate a life of profound meaning and fulfillment, I stand ready with compassion, profound empathy, and a down-to-earth approach. Drawing upon my wealth of experience, I will accompany you on the path towards your heart's desires and goals. I believe that when we challenge ourselves, we create an opportunity for healing and growth. My intention is to offer a safe and supportive environment for my clients to dive into their own healing. My holistic approach to therapy is centered around discovering who you are and what you need. I will support you in making connections between your spiritual, mental, physical, social, emotional, creative, and intellectual needs in order to create change necessary for healing and growth. I counsel from a combination of perspectives that include Person-Centered and Transpersonal orientations. From a Trauma Informed approach, I use these perspectives interchangeably as our counseling relationship evolves. I am a certified Child and Youth Counselor CCYC #00519 and registered with the Canadian Addiction Counselling Certification Federation - CCAC #50165, The Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta - ACTA #2429, and The Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada - ACCT - RTC #3093. Call or email me directly to book your 15 minute consultation. A confidential voice mail can be left if I am not available. Deanna is down to earth, warm, and engaging.
