My work is grounded in both professional training and lived experience. As an ADHD Autistic counselor and a biological, adoptive, and foster parent of seven children with diverse neurodevelopmental profiles, I bring a deeply informed, compassionate, and practical understanding of complex needs including FASD, ASD, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
Throughout my career, I have worked as a behavioral interventionist, child and family support worker, educational assistant, and inclusive program facilitator. I have supported social-emotional development, communication, and self-regulation using trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approaches. I prioritize relationship-based practice and create inclusive environments where children and youth feel safe, understood, and capable.
I have collaborated with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to design and implement individualized supports that are responsive, culturally aware, and strengths-based. My approach integrates behavior intervention strategies with creative methods such as art and play to support emotional expression and engagement.
My education includes Behavioral Intervention (Douglas College), FASD Fundamentals, Indigenous Ways of Knowing (UBC), Indigenous Cultural Safety, Trauma-Informed Practice (Justice Institute of BC), and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI).
