I offer art therapy online and in-person for adults and youth, and in-person groups and workshops in/around Campbell River/ƛəmataxʷ, BC.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, grieving a loss, navigating a major life transition, exploring your identity, or trying to find your way through stress or trauma, art therapy can be a deep and tender way to explore, understand, and shift what you're experiencing.
You don't need to be an artist—or even think of yourself as creative. Art therapy is about expression, exploration, and connection, not making "good" art. Together, we use the creative process to give form to what's going on, listen inward, build self-trust, and discover things that can be difficult to reach through words alone.
In the therapeutic creative state of a session, as you physically make art that didn't exist before, space also opens up within for things that didn't exist before: perspectives, connections, possibilities, compassion, motivation, hope. The process is gentle, surprising, and often playful, even when focusing on painful or difficult experiences.
My approach is flexible and responsive, in support of greater wellbeing and more wholehearted living, and shaped around what you need. Art therapy and creative exploration has been and continues to be transformative in my own life. After several careers, including architectural design, facilities planning, lodge management, and teaching, nothing has come close to the authenticity I feel when practicing art therapy with clients.
