Karen Hails from the west coast, so far west in fact, you can see Alaska on a nice crisp day. Karen married her Husband and headed to Haida Gwaii with her BA in Foundations of Counselling. Getting her start in on the Islands of Haida Gwaii as a counsellor was a challenge, a small island, small town living, and no fast food. She took on the role of Program coordinator for the Children Who Witness Abuse Program, expanded it into a Violence is Preventable project and spent 4 years living and learning with the Haida. The call to head to Northern Alberta came a over decade ago and off her family went with one infant in tow and not much else. We have lived in Alberta for over a decade, our family consists of 2 crazy children, a dog and a cat.
Her background has been in Family violence, Emotional Trauma, Relationship Counselling; anything that deals with relationships Karen has the skills. She has worked in a myriad of programs, A Teen Centre, Social service centers, Mental Health, the RCMP and a private practice. Karen currently holds the tiles of Master Therapeutic Counsellor, Certified Life coach and A Counselling Supervisor.
Karen is passionate about equipping clients to be resourceful in their professional and personal life. Success in life is putting your heart into the smallest things; it is a journey that we are all on.
