Welcome! I’m so happy you found me!
My name’s Kelly and I’m a Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor, Registered Counselling Therapist, and Registered Therapeutic Counsellor. My practice serves clients who identify as disabled, chronically ill and/or neurodivergent. I am LGBTQ2SIA+ affirming, health at every size (HAES) aligned and trauma-informed. My therapy space is a safe place for you to show up as your authentic self.
Personally, I identify as queer, autistic, disabled (hypermobility and chronic pain), and femme non-binary. I use she/her or they/them pronouns. At other points in my life, I have been active in the kink and poly communities. I’m a sewist, knitter, tea drinker, and dog lover. My favourite place in the world is my hammock swing in my backyard.
My theoretical approach to counselling is based in feminist theory. I strongly believe in social justice, advocacy, and reducing the power imbalance between therapist and client. My sessions are client-based which means that we come up with goals together and work on what you want to change in your life. My goal is to provide a safe place for you to externally process your feelings, help you “connect the dots” on patterns you fall into, and guide you in figuring out how to make beneficial changes in your life.
I come from a strengths-based perspective and love helping people discover their values, embrace their identities, and improve their self-esteem. I also really like doing boundaries work with clients because it took me a long time to develop that skill too!
I have a lovely therapy office in Moose Jaw, SK and invite you to see me in person if you are local. I’m also available for online sessions throughout the western provinces (BC, AB, SK, MB). I’m always happy to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we might be a good fit, and I look forward to hearing from you!
