My healing journey began shortly after my daughter was born. Her birth triggered memories and feelings that I had managed to stuff down for years. I committed to changing my life, my beliefs, and my thoughts so I could create a better life for my daughter and eventually it became about creating a better life for me as well. One where I could finally forgive myself and show myself compassion for doing what I needed to do to survive- to function in what I believed to be an incredibly unsafe world. Through this transformation, I acquired the self-awareness and the relationship skills I needed to improve my life. I was able to connect with my inner wisdom and step into my authentic self. I learned the tools to deal with my feelings in a responsible and accountable way. I learned how to show up vulnerably in my relationships which has led to some of the most beautiful and heart-felt connections I have ever experienced. My life is far from perfect, but I am much better equipped to handle what life throws my way.
After applying these principles to my life and seeing the benefits firsthand, I knew I wanted to help others to experience a happy, healthier, more balanced life. When working with my clients, I draw on my personal experience, my background in teaching, and my extensive training as a therapeutic counsellor. I believe in a holistic approach to counselling, drawing on several perspectives based on the needs of my clients. I am here to encourage and support you; a compassionate facilitator. My intention is to provide a safe space and to support you on your personal journey toward self-awareness and discovery.
