About Me

Hello & Welcome, My motto as a counsellor is to meet the individual where they are and in this meeting help them feel safe, supported, seen and celebrated. My approach positions the client at the center and weaves empathetic listening, immediacy, breathing techniques, expressive arts, non-verbal tracking, affirmation, validation, open-ended questions, nervous system education, somatics and mindfulness. I am an advocate for radical compassion, an attuned feeler, a hope holder and a catalyst for change. I am passionate about connection and embrace it as a driving force in my life. My own healing journey led me to explore connection based practices; vipassanā, holotropic breath-work, yoga, osho active meditation, ecstatic dance, kirtan, and ritual. Alongside this intrapersonal deep dive I also wrote a Master’s thesis that was essentially about connection - it investigated the interplay between meaningful relationships and safe and supportive environments. As a white cisgendered woman I am committed to my own work in understanding and unraveling the systemic conditioning that undeniably lives inside of me. That being said, I am committed to a feminist, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practice. I understand my immense responsibility as a space-holder and witness to your vulnerability - being trusted with the truths of your inner landscape is a tremendous privilege and a humbling educator. As a counsellor, I have supported clients struggling from low self esteem, abuse, severe anxiety, depression, disordered eating, body dysmorphia, ptsd, complex trauma, family dynamics, disassociation, life transitions, etc. I am enthusiastic about education and have reconciled myself to being a lifelong student. I am currently in the my third and final year of Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing Training. Additionally, I recently began my Doctoral Studies in Expressive Arts: Therapy, Coaching, Consulting & Education, Conflict Transformation & Peace-building. Expressive Arts is a non-invasive nourishment focused therapy that uses direct experience through art making to tap into the senses in order to explore thoughts, patterns, & belief systems. EXA supports the reclamation of internal power through mind/body sovereignty.
