I’m Dan, a professional therapist with a B.A.(Hons) in Counselling. I’m registered with the ACCT as well as the BACP and am the founder of Coping Counselling. My practice is built on a heartfelt belief: positive change is possible even during life’s most challenging moments. When the storms of life are raging, I’m there to provide steady support, creating space for moments of peace that gradually lead to healing, restoration and strengthening.
As a person, I’ve been there… from feeling as though I’m thriving in life and on top of my game to being in the pits of despair, feeling as though I’ve lost everything and broken inside. Whatever you’re going through, know you’re speaking with someone who also has been on a journey… made good decisions, bad decisions and everything in between. My heart and ambition is to help people through their unique journey, whether you’re on top of the mountain or deep in the valley, I’ve been there.
My counselling approach weaves together two complementary methodologies. Through Humanistic therapy, I foster genuine, meaningful connections—the essential foundation of our work together. I then integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to help uncover root causes and develop practical pathways to empower you moving forward.
Having worked with people of diverse backgrounds particularly youth and young adults, I understand the hesitations many feel when seeking support. My approach balances warmth with clarity, offering both compassionate understanding and thoughtful guidance.
I’m committed to creating a welcoming space where authentic conversations lead to meaningful insights, helping you to develop the inner resources needed to navigate life’s challenges with renewed hope and confidence.
I provide online Counselling for Young Adults 18-40 (Yes, you’re still young at 40) and young people 11-17. I offer flexible and professional counselling sessions conducted entirely online, no travel required, no waiting rooms, rather confidential counselling from the comfort of your own space. Sessions are conducted via ‘Owl Practitioner’ a secure platform used by many therapy services.
