Q What is your cancellation policy?

Clients will be charged the full session fee for missed or cancelled appointments unless they have given at least 24 hours notice by e-mail (jen@jenniferbrumcounselling.com) or telephone (250-589-2786).

Q What if I'm late for my appointment?

I will be available to you for the duration of the time slot we have scheduled but will be unable to run past our scheduled end time as I will need to prepare for the following client.

Q What are my payment options?

Payment is due at, or prior to, the beginning of each session. Although etransfer is preferable I do accept cheques and credit card. A $30 fee will be applied to all NSF cheques.

Q How often will I have appointments?

It is recommended to begin with weekly appointments. We can then discuss your goals and concerns and decide on the most beneficial strategy going forward.

Q How long are the appointments?

I offer 60 minute, 90 minute, and, if required, 2 hour sessions. Together we will discuss your goals and find the right combination of session days and times to meet your needs.

Q Will my health insurance cover my fees?

Please review your policy to determine whether your extended health benefits cover Registered Therapeutic Counsellors. If so, I would be happy to provide an official receipt for reimbursement. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Q Will our sessions be confidential?

As a professional member of the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada, I have a code of ethics and professional standards that I am required to abide by. In order to offer you the best possible service, I may consult with colleagues in order to receive peer supervision; your name and other identifying information would not be used. (I am also obligated to report ongoing professional development hours annually.)

Q Do you offer online counselling?

Absolutely! If you are unable to commit to in-person counselling due to childcare obstacles, travel time, vacations, or because you would just rather remain in the comfort of your own home we can certainly book online counselling sessions.

COVID: Due to the pandemic I have been seeing clients online (or telephone sessions if preferred). As the pandemic and safety parameters continue to vary, please let me know if you would rather meet in person and we can take these things into consideration at that time.
