Hi there, I’m Katya, and I’m passionate about understanding what makes us tick—why we think, feel, and act the way we do. As a counsellor, I believe that real growth happens when we explore both the light and the shadow within ourselves. Life can be complicated, but I’m here to walk with you through those twists and turns, helping you find clarity, purpose, and a deeper connection with yourself.
We all carry stories, beliefs, and emotions that shape how we move through the world. I’ve always been fascinated by these inner workings—how experiences, thoughts, and feelings come together to make us who we are. That curiosity drives me every day to help others uncover what’s holding them back and to create meaningful change from within. Whether it’s personal development, spiritual growth, or simply learning to navigate life’s challenges, I love supporting people on their journey to become their most authentic selves.
Our conversations will be grounded in empathy, openness, and curiosity. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely. Together, we’ll work through the patterns that no longer serve you, while building new ways of thinking and being that align with the life you want to create. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or growth, I’m here to help you along the way.
In addition to being a life-long learner of all things “human”, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (B.A.), as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) from California State University, Chico. I also have a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A) degree from Claremont Graduate School in California. I completed the coursework for a Master of Counselling Psychology (M.A.C.P.) from Yorkville University in New Brunswick, but chose to complete my practicum supervision through Orca Institute in Vancouver.
I have worked with disadvantaged teens as well as “marginalized” folks in homeless shelters, and I also manned crisis lines at the Vancouver Crisis Centre. I am trauma-informed and have special interests in relationship building and general personal and spiritual growth. I use a variety of therapies including person-centred, somatic, cognitive behaviour, parts, inner child and reparenting.
