What is your general philosophy and approach to helping?
I maintain an over arching humanistic philosophy in terms of minimal direction, and emphasizing the importance of being your true self in order to lead the most fulfilling life. If needed we will selectively apply techniques from a variety of approaches to best fit your issues, treatment goals, and motivations.
Do you offer free consultation?
Absolutely! A counsellor who meshes with your personality is key to a meaningful and effective therapeutic relationship. A short interview also allows me to evaluate if I am able to help with your particular issue and offer referral to a trusted colleague if need be.
Are you supervised?
Yes, I'm proud to say my immediate supervisor has over 40 years experience as a counselling therapist.
Have you been in therapy yourself?
Yes. In order to offer the best care for my clients, I need to take good care of myself and also reminded of how it feels to be "in the seat".
