At The Heart’s Mission Creative Therapy, you have the opportunity to encourage your personal strengths and find your core of authenticity, empower you to live your life from a place of wholeness and feel supported to cultivate meaning in your present life and find meaning to your history.
Founded on values of possibility and idealism, The Heart’s Mission places importance on helping the client develop inner resilience, experience trauma reversal and find the path for innate self-healing.
This process is unique for every individual, and the movement through our sessions together will be determined by what is present that asks to be addressed and a shared consensus of what has and has not been working for you in your therapeutic journey thus far.
The inquiry of who do you most wish to become and what do you most need to be present to at this moment in your life are trail markers that will inform the specificity of our journey together. Your ideal self is the key – to feel like you are living in a way that is most authentic to you.
Nature is often referenced in session, as a way to connect to what is here in this world, what opportunities and expressions are already fully present for us to perceive them and embody their thread. As long as you are alive on this planet, there is a gift for you in the moment.
As we work together both verbally and somatically, we find the correlations inside that speak more than words can express. Deepening into the process, the body is an intrinsic support system. With awareness, the body is always working to sort out the troubles of the mind. In cases of chronic pain and illness, we look at trapped emotions that have not had the chance to surface, thereby constantly pressing upon the person unconsciously, seeking the attention and awareness that can bring about the possibility of change.
Well-practiced in the creative energy healing process from decades of research and coursework, we can also approach the somatic through internal energy-awareness practices, helping you get in touch with the aspects of you that are more kinesthetic than verbal.
The option to embark on aspects of consciousness through art therapy is also available; integrating the progress and emotional understanding with the right-brain deeply connected understanding of the unconscious. The creative process helps you to to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight. The method is not to create a work of art, but to create something that expresses your sense of experience in a moment.
Just as you may know the vibrant chakra system perceived and recorded by Indian mystic centuries ago, the auric aspects that surround all living things are composed of rainbows of light, invisible to the naked eye for most. As we work with art materials, using non-dominant or both hands, we collapse the conscious and the unconscious separation along with the known and unknown elements of body, mind and energy. We travel together into realms of idealism and create something from within. The act of creation alone can be deeply empowering.
A holistic approach means bringing all of the skills of the practitioner to the session, offering the client a number of insights and tools, and catalyzing deep healing, fresh inspiration, interconnection and a sense of wholeness.
We work together until you feel like your life is where you’d like it to be, clearing old ways of living until they are distant memories.
