My journey to become a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor began unexpectedly after I experienced the loss of four close family members. Feeling numb and disconnected from the world and the people I loved, I decided to attend a weekend workshop to navigate through my grief, sadness, and anger. My goal was to rediscover a sense of peace in my body and love in my heart, but I was unsure of how to achieve that. The three-day workshop proved to be transformational, and I could sense myself gradually stepping out of the shadows of sadness and embracing the warmth of joy.

Upon reflecting on my adult experiences, I gained insight into how my childhood shaped my perception of the world and ultimately influenced the person I am today. The tapestry woven by early life experiences, a mix of challenges and triumphs, has significantly impacted my perspective on relationships, resilience, and personal growth. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that these perspectives haven’t always served me well. At times, they led to unhelpful patterns of thought or behaviors that hindered my personal development. Recognizing this, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery, seeking to understand and recalibrate those aspects of my worldview that were not conducive to my well-being.

Motivated by a deep desire to understand myself and the intricacies of the human experience, I enrolled in a diploma program in Transpersonal Therapeutic Counselling. This educational pursuit became a crucial part of my journey, offering me tools and insights that complemented my personal exploration. Through this program, I not only enhanced my self-awareness but also expanded my capacity to relate to others on a profound level. This experience led me to become a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor, marking a significant step in my dedication to helping others on their paths to healing and self-discovery.

Embarking on a counseling journey with me means delving into a mix of expertise, insightful conversations, genuine acceptance, and authentic connections.

On a personal level, I find joy in laughter and cultivating meaningful connections with others. Immersing myself in nature, whether through a leisurely walk, a round of golf, or a hike, brings me a profound sense of peace. I embrace adventure, often by challenging myself to step into areas of discomfort because, through experience, that’s where genuine growth occurs. I firmly believe in taking complete responsibility for how I present myself to the world. I closely adhere to certain perspectives: “What is meant for me won’t miss me, and what misses me wasn’t meant for me,” “Life happens for us, not to us.” Additionally, I use the following question to prompt self-reflection: “If it’s not about the other person, what does it stir up within me?” And, most importantly, I believe that our fundamental responsibility as stewards of this planet is to attain a state of unconditional love and acceptance for ourselves and others, all while nurturing and caring for the Earth we call home.
