I take a collaborative and solution-focused approach to counselling. I believe in helping individuals identify and build upon their strengths to achieve positive outcomes.
I offer a variety of services including:
Neurodiversity support, parenting support, individual counselling and family support.
My services are designed to meet the unique needs of each person.“Nothing about us without us” is a movement in the Autistic community that is foundational in the support provided to Neurodiverse persons and their families. I am passionate about helping individuals and families thrive. I work with families from diverse backgrounds and am dedicated to providing culturally-sensitive care. As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor who also has lived experience as an Autistic person, I understand the nuanced needs of autistic adults and families needing support for their neurodiverse children.
I have over a decade and a half of experience supporting high risk teenagers, and have helped multiple families reconcile after stress in the home caused a divide. I have supported both youth and families to improve their communication, vocalizing needs and create boundaries.
I have worked on multiple boards in the Okanagan and across British Columbia and Canada to help support youth at risk of precarious housing and homelessness; it was through this work I realized a large part of supporting youth is to prevent family break down which begins with supporting families and helping them develop the skills they need to prevent miscommunications.
I work with community resources to help support families and have a vast knowledge of additional education opportunities available to families.
It is from a place of non-judgment I work with clients to develop their own goals and help them develop the tools they need to reach each milestone. Each person and family is individual and their history, experiences and relationships are unique; it is with this in mind I work with clients to take the steps of change they are looking to make.
